چکیده

This paper provides an extension of pathloss analysis in Urban, Rural and Semi-Urban environments in Oman. A new software package has been developed that incorporates modified propagation models and the proposition of radio frequency (RF) network design output for proper and efficient planning to be used by RF engineers for pathloss studies. The root-mean square error (RMSE) was calculated between measured and predicted values according to the Okumura-Hata propagation model. PCHIP analysis technique has been used for the prediction of unknown data which gave good result.

This paper deals with the outdoor path loss behavior. The study has been conducted in Mosul city Iraq to fit a suitable propagation model to measured data at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz in urban and suburban environment. The empirical models dealt which are Hata, Cost-231 Hata, international Telecommunication Union (ITU-R), Ericsson and Stanford University Interm (SUI). Path loss accuracy of the fitti...

Empirical pathloss model for indoor geolocation using UWB measurements

A novel empirical approach is presented for modelling the path loss behaviour of the direct path (DP) between the transmitter and receiver, which is important for time-of-arrival-based indoor geolocation coverage characterisation. Using ultra wideband (UWB) measurements in four sites and three ranging scenarios, pathloss models at 500 MHz and 3 GHz system bandwidths are provided, centred on 4.5...

Performance Comparison of Dual Connectivity and Hard Handover for LTE-5G Tight Integration

Communications at frequencies above 10 GHz (the mmWave band) are expected to play a major role for the next generation of cellular networks (5G), because of the potential multi-gigabit, ultra-low latency performance of this technology. mmWave frequencies however suffer from very high isotropic pathloss, which may result in cells with a much smaller coverage area than current LTE macrocells. Hig...

Analysis of Addax-Sinopec Outdoor Pathloss Behavior for WiFi and WiMAX Infrastructure

In wireless environments, improper handover among mobile terminals can occur during micromobility due to various reasons. Once this takes place, the network Quality of Service (QoS) experiences degradation thereby increasing the call drop rate, creating latency problems and decreasing throughput. In such scenario, there is an urgent need to optimize network performance while utilizing network r...
